Fall Colors and Big Elk

Today Sandy and I took a little trip, probably our last excursion for a little while, to see the fall colors. We visited Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The doggies got to come, but they were a little upset, they got to go for a walk in town but kept getting tied to light poles while we shopped. In the Park, no dogs allowed, They had to watch very painfully as all the elk mocked them from only feet away.

Sandy has progressed from carmel apples to Candied apples, which we found up at one of the sweet shops, Mmmm !! After picking up a few touristy items in town we headed for the mountain, and let me tell ya, good timing. The rutt was nearing its end so the herd bulls had relaxed their hold on the herds and there were Big Bulls everywhere!! We got some awesome close up video of I would say about ten bulls. Over the evening we watched easily 200 elk, a few bulls fighting, and lots and lots of bugeling. The Bulls fighting off and on, but the bugeling was constant as they all answered one another. The largest bull was a 7x7 and we have video to prove it, come see us and we'll show you.

We also took a small hike and got a few family pics and here is one of Sandy for you all to see how she is progressing, I think Large is the term. Little Korbin, who Sandy says "aint so little," is trying to kick his way out, through her ribs none the less. We are all doing well and have begun final preperations for Korbin's arrival including; packing our and Korbin's bags for the hospital, putting in our car seats, and laundring a few sets of clothes for his first few days home. We are as ready as we can be, Talk with you all a little later.
